A Looking Inside - AHJ January 1949

This is currently one of my oldest Australian Home Journals, however I have seen olden one on ebay.
This one was hard to scan as the cover is damage down the spine and it has the very thin feel to the paper. Filled mostly with written articles and adds there was little to pick from anyway. I do not have the patterns for this one which is a bit disappointing but I'll live.

Hope you enjoy.

Well that's all for now.

  1. I really love all of these scans. Excellent fashion inspiration and its so fun to get a peek into daily life back then. Thank you for sharing!!'x

  2. Mmmmm - imagine putting 'idleness dulls the brain' on the cover of a magazine today....and I remember what pure hell it was to have breakfast stops on buses, Corn Flakes would never have helped! Lovely images, however!

  3. I love the yarn ad "Yarns that ring true" *Fabulous* I never come across vintage magazines around here.. and when I do they are priced quite high.

  4. I love a lot of the adds and also find the fashion of great inspiration, all the more reason to share it.

VHC I know nothing of breakfast stops but am often suprised at how many of the old products are still around. Corn Flakes being one of them.
