A Look Inside

It comes with three (3) free patterns, those you see on the cover. There is no contents page to copy but I'll give you an idea of what inside.

Apart from all the adds, somethings never change, you can find correspondents, review on films and plays, a short story, dress patterns to order, "Make the most of your home" article about interior decorating, recipes, free knitting patterns and don't forget your star signs.

If I get some time soon I would really like to make pattern 5337 (yellow dress on cover) and in a fresh yellow too would be a nice change.

Hope you have a lovely day/night.

Collection's

A while ago I added the Collection's page, slowly I am adding to it. Today I added some of my clothes pattrens. Please enjoy.

Sunday Sewing

During the week I came home to a parcel in the mail box, it was some new/old clothes patterns I had orderd. I have been hunting for just the right pedal pushers and I think I've found them, what more they come with a get looking wrap top.

Handy Home Hits: Lemons

When food shopping I hat going down the washing detergent aisle, it has a smell I just can't stand. Years ago I found a great little book with ideas for cleaning your home the "Old way", while not everything in it has worked for me some have. Cleaning with lemons has been one of the best changes I have made.

Sunday Sewing

Well I got around to making the half slip, I did view C. This was the one I planned to use an old single bed valance to make and it worked out nicely. In the end I was only short a few inches for the lace which you really didn’t noice once you gathered, and the lace is a larger width then required but I couldn’t bring myself to cut the lace so I left it.

Birthday Time!

I’m a bit late on the uptake of this one but two weeks ago our Miss Little turned 6. We had a tea party, moved inside due to bad weather, with real tea leaves and tea cups and the lots. It was a very pink affair and rock ‘n’ roll music. So here are a few snaps from the party.

Money, money, money (part 1 )

Finally the stress of trying to run a small business, a family and raise three young children is starting to show and I don’t mean the bags under the eyes, the laundry piling up or I don’t remember the last time I was out in the garden. No I mean there is a whole in my pocket and my family budget has flown out the window.

Money is not the source of great evil, only the misuse of it is, money is not the answer to happiness the knowledge to use it wisely is.

Many of the vintage magazines I read will almost always have an article on how to save money or manage it. It seems once upon a time every mother in the land knew the magic art of budgeting and was willing to share. The fact most countries have suffered with some finical issues of late only show something has gone wrong. At the grass roots it’s often ourselves to blame but we don’t want to admit it, while I understand in some cases this is not so I am referring to the smaller issues in life. Like your home budget or lack of one, the credit card we all seem to need and the wasteful shopping that we think will make us feel better.

Australian Homemaker and Handyman

Each week I try to read one of my new/old magazines, last week I received five new ones in the mail. Unlike most of my current ones, these are all about handyman jobs and do-it-yourself, I quickly flicked through them looking for anything that jumped out at me.

With so many pages of ideas and things to do, I thought I would share some so each week I will scan some of the more colourful and nicer pages from one magazine. Please note that while I try my best not all scans come out that great, I often cut an image at the side this is due to not being able to open the book fully without possible damage.
