My Cargo Bicycle

I have made comments on my cargo bike before but thought I would show/tell you a bit more about it since it is becoming my main mode of transport. I got my cargo bike from Blind Freddy Electric Bikes, it was a great buy and came with everything I needed including a slide show on how to put it together yourself.

New Background

Ok so there are some changes happening with Cutest Blog on the Block and I can't get a new background before Friday as there site is too busy. I'm using a Blogger template instead, it's not very retro but I think it's very family. I like the fresh colours too. I'll be making some more layout changes too.

80's Floors in Australia

I picked up this do-it-yourself book last week, it's from thw Australian Home Journal name so that was the first thing to get me. The book is 1980's print and you only have to look at the great colour photo's to know that.
I've put it in a slide show, so I hope it works.

It's not realy very retro but it's a good look at Austalian homes, so many memories come back to me from when I was a child. I remember the slate floors and Grandma had the seagrass matting, and many of the rest I remember well.

Sunday Sewing

Monday

This week I made Master Little 2 some winter pj’s. It wasn’t too hard to pick a pattern, I only have one option at hand in his size, and I had to draft the pattern anyway. I used number 248 from the Golden Dressmaker; I also liked number 243 so I kept this in mind. Out of my stash I found some awesome space fabric and a plain blue that matched well, both are a soft flannel.

Getting On Track

Of late life has been moving forward at it's own speed, so t slow it down and move it in the diretion I want I am setting myself a task. Between Monday to Friday I must do one retro thing, be it as simple as buying a new red lipstick or as grand as sewing a new outfit. On Saturday and Sunday I will blog what I have done. I hope this way I can gain some control back.

First on the to-do-list is winter pj's for all the children, as well as Miss Little almost 6's Birthday. This will not be a very retro event, we are going to have a garden tea party and all the fairies are invited.

My retro thing for this week was to get a new  haircut and I did I just haven't taken any photo's yet, I got bangs! Darling Husband said I look a lot like I did in high school, not sure if this is a good thing.

I have gone and gotten lost in the nightmare that is work at the moment, all hell has broken lose. I wont bore you with the details just that it's hard, cold and dirty work in big warehouses and coldrooms, and some how I am ment to keep the ball rolling.

Through into that sick children. sick self and a total driven husband and I'm at my wits end, if I had them to start with. My only bit of retro at the moment is red lipstick, it melts in the hot car, frezzers in the cold rooms and has been used to colour in by Master Little 2, but I still hold on.

Sewing has been happening just in bits, when I get the chance and what is needed most. eg winter pj for children.

Oh and issues with the blog, had a few probs the last few times I log in. Oh well there is light at the end of the tunell, or is the the other end of the coldroom. Be back soon.
