Family History

Today I join the Cairns Historical Society and had a chat to them, I would like to go back on Friday to visit them again as that is the day they ladies who are into sewing, patterns, etc are there. Since both mine and Darling Husbands family are all from around here I thought I might learn more about the history of this area.

So I would like to show you some lovely pic from one of my many family albums, these are all from my Nanny, my fathers mother. The dates range from 1900 on wards and they are not in any order. As most people who have any info about a lot of my photos are nolonger with us I have little info on most of them.

Hair, sponge curls and blue bathrooms.

Last week I bought a pack of sponge rollers, the idea being I can sleep in them like pin curls but get a different look. I got the largest the shop had and they didn't cost alot, so I thought why not. I'm still not that good at doing hair but am working on it.

I have two big issues with retro hair styles, time (or lack of it) and I ride a cargo bike (will blog about this later). So I don't always get the look I set out to do.

It's All About the Oven.

Darling Husband and I have been working towards a new kitchen for a while now and we are now at the building plan stage. *BIG claps* So we need to start making a few key choices, like were the oven will go and which one we want.

So I got a few photos together and took them with us oven shopping. After a few stops we have found someone who know what retro means and we have some work to do working out which one we want.
