Retro Curtins

After much wait and wondering Master Little 2's new curtain fabric has arrive. This is one of the few things I can do now to make my family more retro. Is it not as cute as ever!

After looking at the many ideas in the 1950's, Cafe Curtains,

Ruffled,

Pleated and Pinched pleat,

just a few of what we looked at. However after much talk we have decided on a simple gathered curtain with a shirred curtain on a separate rail behind. To top it off, what I thought was a valances but my sewing made easy book tells me that what I'm after is a cornice painted the same colour as the walls. Will blog with photos of each step once I'm finished. Wish me luck I think I going to need it.
