Long Time No See

Life has had it's ups and downs and while much has happened I don't think I really need to post a long winding story about it. Lets just say I am once again making ago of it.

This time back I will be putting a focus I my sewing. I have done a few cosplay's with the children and we are looking at getting involved with the 501st, in our case the Redback Garrison as they are in charge of my state of Queensland, Australia. More on that later.

I will also be looking to open my own Etsy store, more on that when it happens.

On top of this I was commissioned to make a performance tutu for a someone I know, the first one I have ever done. I will also do a post about that later too. However doing the tutu opened a new door and I am looking sewing tutu's for hire as well as commission. I have already done a fare bit of research into this and the mother of the young lady I made my first tutu for is more then happy to help.

Well that is were I am at.

Baby Hat, Simplicity 2523

A friend  asked my to make a baby hat for someone she knows. She wanted the same kind of hat I made for my cousins  baby. Here is the pattern.

And the fabric she picked, Dinosaur Walk - All Over, by Sugar and Spice Textiles.

Craftsy Block of the Month 2012

Well yes I'm a bit late but who cares. Since I've got my sew mojo back and found the Crasty app for android I thought I might give it a go.
My home is still being renovated so I have taken over the dinning area.

I also thought this would be a good way to use up a lot of Christmas fabric I have collected.

The Golden Dressmaker - Pattern 247

It's now summer in Australia and my two boys are in need of some new PJ's.
I spotted some Star Wars fabric and got a few meters of each, this is the first one I'm working with.

Next the pattern.
I use 247 to draft up a pattern, taking out the collar and pocket. This pattern is for my tallest boy.

In the Garden

For the last few week ends I've been potting around in my little backyard. The grass is dying off thanks to the dog but since that's all I have to worry about from him it could be worse.

My banana tree has fruit but the pawpaw's are not so good.

Some of the herbs are growing like weeds, I've just added some sweet basil.

And I've planted out my first square foot garden bed.
It has broccoli,  cabbage,  lettuce ans beetroot.

I'm slowly getting some ME time back and while I am still having issues with getting on the Internet I don't think it's all that bad. My sewing has truly come to a halt as we prepare for renovations.

Sunday Sewing

It was cool and wet most of today, perfect sewing weather. Today was all about fixing.  Fixing rips, pulls, missing button's and anything else the family had for me. I'm back to using my mother's machine as mine is getting serviced.  The downside is the back stitch is not working.
The photo is of my son's chair bag for school,  he got a big rip. Hopefully this will hold.
I am also going through my ufo's to see what I can finish. I think you have to be in the mood for some projects.
Happy Sewing people.

What am I going!

Ok so that wasn't a question but more a case of me feeling very lost. I can no longer assess my blog via my laptop as chrom and it are not playing nice. Even this way, via my tablet, I am unsure how well it is working.
It's been a while and life has been flying by. Instead of playing catch up I am simply try and pop on at least once a week . I have a few vintage magazine's, some crafts, cooking and other homemaker bits to share. So here's to finding time in my day for me and my blog.
