To Russia with Love

Between Atomic Dad and I we have quite a bit of family overseas.

Among the expected places like England, USA, etc, is Russia.

My cousin moved there for work late last year. He is about to have his first child.

My Aunty is going to visit after the baby is born and things have calmed down. She has asked me to make something but I didn't know what. Someone else is already making a quilt and I don't knit, yet. It has to be travel friendly and not too big.

Well I came up with this! What do you think?

I really wanted to give them something different and is unequilly Australian. You don't think I've gone too far by using Kangaroo fur, it is very warm.

Home Made - Tomato Paste

About a week or two ago I walked passed the warehouse next to ours and saw tomato's heading for the bin. Part of me said "No don't ask." but then the waste not want not part of me had to stop and ask. I walked away with about 4kg for free and a very strange look from the man.

Have a Go!

Well I've started teaching myself to crochet. Other then all the great free online resources I picked up this book/magazine, "The Complete Guide to Crochet" from Inside Crochet. What sparked this new craft? I grew up having cardigans handmade for me by my grandparents and am a little sad this wont be the case for my children, so to solve it I decided I would make them.

Vogue 8811

A few weeks ago saw a heavy focus on paperwork and school for me.

So when I got the chance to drive up and visit my in-laws I jumped at it. Not only do I get along well with them, it's also as close as I get to a holiday most of the time. I always go with sewing machine and normally come home with a fare bit done.
